» The Top 30 Albums of 2010 - Fashionably, fabulously late, our favorite music (and believe me, there was a LOT) of 2010, the year that some have called the best year for music ever. And only some of those fools work here. Plenty of usual suspects, lots of ties and a few surprises that I won't spoil, including our unexpected #1.

don't know what in the hell is going on with this EP craze lately. Two EPs just from Caulfield this month. I dunno ...

Right off when I hear this I think of Jejune. All based on the vocals of Jeff Hanson which when taken with the music sound a hell of a lot like Araby's. Maybe I'm crazy, I don't know, that's just what I think. It sure as hell doesn't sound like a guy's voice. But I like Araby's voice, so that is a good thing. As for the music, I'm thinking something along the lines of Mineral meets Sunny Day Real Estate or something. Actually I really think of Jejune but that could just be due to the vocal thing mentioned above. There is a sort of raw pop sound to this album that both appeals to me and turns me off. I'm thoroughly unsure about this record.

One thing that is driving me batty is this electronic background sound which sounds EXACTLY like the ringer on my telephone. The sound seems to pop up in two of the songs and it was constantly catching my attention.

This band could be great or they could be mediocre. It's hard to tell. When you can't say for sure it usually means they're mediocre but something about this band makes me think they're really good. I'd just like to know what is up with the name.
