» The Top 30 Albums of 2010 - Fashionably, fabulously late, our favorite music (and believe me, there was a LOT) of 2010, the year that some have called the best year for music ever. And only some of those fools work here. Plenty of usual suspects, lots of ties and a few surprises that I won't spoil, including our unexpected #1.

Subject: hey guys!

Hey Tim and Darren. Jonah (from Far - immortal/Epic records) here. Thanks again for putting out that New End Original album! That was a real coup for me personally to be on Jade Tree. When Norm (Norm!) and i got together for that puppy we new it was going to be great. That would have been crazy to go with Winegard's suggestion of calling the band ex- Far, Shelter, Resurrection, Texas is the Reason, Split Lip, Chamberlain, et cetera. But "emo supergroup" as a tag line and the name New End Original ended up working out better anyway. Whoever thought of that is killer.

Anyway, i know you guys are busy as heck so i will get to the point - i need someone to put out the next onelinedrawing record. do you guys have copies of the singles that i did with Rival Schools and Sense Field? i think this next one could really be the record that puts me into the mass public eye. i have my eyes set on MTV2 and i'll work my way up from there. i got the whole idea for the album when we were recording those demos with Newport (Fudgetunnel yeah rite! who the hell is that?) for the New End Original record. That guy just burned a stare through my face every time i tried talking to the rest of the guys (Norm!) about what i was trying to convey with the lyrics. That guy just didn't get it! But then right after Sept. 11 i was at Gilman and i was watching my good friend Chris Carrabba up on stage and i was just like wow! This guy is so good and he really breaks down the boundaries between the performer and the audience and his fans can really _hear_ what he is saying to them. And i knew that was what i wanted to do. And i'm not saying that just because Dashboard Confessional is so popular but because it is so pure and open and really from the heart. i won't lie to you, some of this stuff is pretty deep and intense. but i had to get it out. i have some really melancholy work and i finally have the guts to put it to tape. this album will really convey the live show that i have where the audience becomes one with me.

Here is the track listing for the album. i already have the song titles figured out and some have German names, some have really punk rawk spellings and i think they can all sort of foreshadow for the listener what the song will be about. i'm also going to put R2 on the cover of the record, maybe something really abstract - like no other album cover ever. what do you guys think? i really think this will be my personal opus (and Arenas and those other bastards, just between you and me, will be sorry they refused to play under the name onelinedrawing.)

1. Um... (i'm not thinking - that's the name!)
2. Bitte Ein Kuss (this one is german but i'm not sure about the spelling. another idea i had was to name it bitte ein kyuss but i decided against that. what do you guys think?)
3. but it was close
4. smile
5. perfect pair (not about shoes!)
6. candle song (this one is about a girl)
7. yr letter (this one is about a girl)
8. why are we fighting? (this is a sad song about a girl and a fight i once had with a girl who i really loved and who made me upset a lot. she didn't really understand me)
9. visitor (i think this might also be the title of the album)
10. softbelly
11. sixes (not three sixes though! scary!)

PS - please be sure that the name onelinedrawing appears just like that on the website and everything. All one word and all lower case. i don't like to use capital letters because they're so macho and so status quo.

PPS - i'm kind of seeing winona ryder right now and if you guys have the budget for a video i think i could get her to be in it. i was thinking something like that counting crows video with courtney cox but without all of the trees. maybe with just a lot of christmas lights instead. what do you guys think?
