» Full Dark, No Stars - Stephen King's new novella questions mankind's ability to trust others.

» The Top 30 Albums of 2010 - Fashionably, fabulously late, our favorite music (and believe me, there was a LOT) of 2010, the year that some have called the best year for music ever. And only some of those fools work here. Plenty of usual suspects, lots of ties and a few surprises that I won't spoil, including our unexpected #1.

» Live: Surfer Blood/The Drums at Lincoln Hall, Chicago, IL - Remember when Weezer used to put together records that you could sing along to and rock out to? That's what Surfer Blood's show was like!

Head of Femur you say? The femur is the large bone running through our thigh. Most people remember that from basic anatomy, but it is less likely for someone to know the femur's cultural significance in rock and roll history. The connection is that the head of femur was actually the boundary point that the camera crew of The Ed Sullivan Show could not film below when Elvis made his famous appearance there and as such, "the head of femur is the point where rock and roll becomes sex, and we balance on top of it" declares the band.

Today, Head of Femur is a group of well-experienced Chicago based musicians, including current members of the touted Bright Eyes whose music pays as much tribute to rock and roll history as their name. Their music is truly timeless and influenced by and similar to rock and roll hallmarks such as The Beach Boys, Talking Heads, The Flaming Lips, The Who, The Beatles, The Kinks, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, The Band, Bob Dylan and The Cars to name a few. This being the case, one can imagine how hard it is to describe this CD in any compact form other than to say flat out that this music is awesome.

During every moment of saturation, Head of Femur's diverse melodies and song styles will intoxicate your senses from change to change and track to track. Moreover, their catchy storyboard lyrics will have you singing yourself through whatever life entails.
