» Full Dark, No Stars - Stephen King's new novella questions mankind's ability to trust others.

» The Top 30 Albums of 2010 - Fashionably, fabulously late, our favorite music (and believe me, there was a LOT) of 2010, the year that some have called the best year for music ever. And only some of those fools work here. Plenty of usual suspects, lots of ties and a few surprises that I won't spoil, including our unexpected #1.

» Live: Surfer Blood/The Drums at Lincoln Hall, Chicago, IL - Remember when Weezer used to put together records that you could sing along to and rock out to? That's what Surfer Blood's show was like!

The Burgundy Romance is essentially one person - Justin Shanerinner. Justin used to be in the crappy band Roosevelt but the Burgundy Romance definetly has nothing to do with crappiness. Think soft, a bit mathy, almost instrumental rock and you are quite near the Burgundy Romance. The music ranges from soft, laid back and monotonous (in a good sense) to crashing and complex rock. On this recording Justin gets some help from Tim O'Donnell (ex Yusefs Well) on bass and Dave Le Bleu (the Mercury Program) on drums. All parties involved are really talented instrumentalists and on top of that I have to say that Justin's songwriting is very impressive. I have a feeling that whatever this guy records in the future is going to be even better.
