» Full Dark, No Stars - Stephen King's new novella questions mankind's ability to trust others.

» The Top 30 Albums of 2010 - Fashionably, fabulously late, our favorite music (and believe me, there was a LOT) of 2010, the year that some have called the best year for music ever. And only some of those fools work here. Plenty of usual suspects, lots of ties and a few surprises that I won't spoil, including our unexpected #1.

» Live: Surfer Blood/The Drums at Lincoln Hall, Chicago, IL - Remember when Weezer used to put together records that you could sing along to and rock out to? That's what Surfer Blood's show was like!

My Hotel Year
The Composition of Ending and Phrasing
Beyond Music Records

Rating: NR/10 ?

If you want an idea of whether or not you want to pick up a copy of My Hotel Year's The Composition of Ending and Phrasing, you might just want to ask Andrew from Hurricane, WV, United States. He rates the album with four out of five stars on Amazon.com, and wrote his own customer review for the album. And I quote, "This is an incredible album. Florida just keeps banging out great band after great band... Further Seems Forever, Seville (The Agency), Farewell to Fashion (check em out!!!), and Dashboard Confessional just to name a few... With this album, look for My/Hotel/Year to be in that list in the near future... Great Indie Rock, pick it up if you all ready haven't and go check out MHY w/ Farewell to Fashion... Their live show in incredible. Rock."

If that's not convincing enough, a fan from southern California who also gives the album four out of five stars and goes by the name of "I Wanna be a Rock Star", mentions in their customer review that "You gotta stay at this hotel... Super-duper CD. It's great stuff, completely original. I have not heard anything like this before. The vocals are great, very catchy... The sound is kind of dark, but not to the point of inciting mass suicide... not even close. The upbeat drums keep it happy."

I can testify that for all intensive purposes, when I Wanna be a Rock Star writes "dark" they mean emo. Need proof? How about guilt by association - according to Amazon, "Customers who bought titles by My Hotel Year also bought titles by these artists: Junction 18, Juliana Theory." So, if you're interestedů Viva el groupo My Hotel Year! Viva la musica!
