» Full Dark, No Stars - Stephen King's new novella questions mankind's ability to trust others.

» The Top 30 Albums of 2010 - Fashionably, fabulously late, our favorite music (and believe me, there was a LOT) of 2010, the year that some have called the best year for music ever. And only some of those fools work here. Plenty of usual suspects, lots of ties and a few surprises that I won't spoil, including our unexpected #1.

» Live: Surfer Blood/The Drums at Lincoln Hall, Chicago, IL - Remember when Weezer used to put together records that you could sing along to and rock out to? That's what Surfer Blood's show was like!

Why is it necessary for bands to put bios on their websites? Is any legitimate fan of their music really going to give a shit about their favorite movie or most embarrassing moment? And with most of these bands, the only people that would care are the 14 year olds who worship them. Save it for Teen People magazine, this is rock and roll for Christ sakes.

I hate to point my gangly finger, but Christensen fits this prototype. The four-member band includes Brandon, Brad, Terry and Robby; all with the last name Christiansen.

A beer drinking, party influenced garage band, Christiansen definitely have a wave of energy vibrating throughout each track of their newest release, Stylist Nihilists. Yet the sound gets repetitive. It is very obvious that bands like Jawbreaker, and especially At-the-Drive-In have influenced them. Brandon Christianse'n voice is wonderful, with great range. I hear a little bit of circa 1993 grunge in his voice, especially in "Under Things Killed". Their publicists say they believe this band will be in the new wave of upcoming bands. I would say, maybe. I could see them playing at Warp Tour in the near future. That could be a positive thing for some people.
