» Full Dark, No Stars - Stephen King's new novella questions mankind's ability to trust others.

» The Top 30 Albums of 2010 - Fashionably, fabulously late, our favorite music (and believe me, there was a LOT) of 2010, the year that some have called the best year for music ever. And only some of those fools work here. Plenty of usual suspects, lots of ties and a few surprises that I won't spoil, including our unexpected #1.

» Live: Surfer Blood/The Drums at Lincoln Hall, Chicago, IL - Remember when Weezer used to put together records that you could sing along to and rock out to? That's what Surfer Blood's show was like!

Boy Sets Fire are one of the rare hardcore bands that don't sound like every other hardcore band out there today. Most times that's a good thing, but this time it ain't. I don't want to dis the record because Matt and those guys are good guys, but I have to be objective, right? Of course I do. So here it comes. This CD reminds me of the bad pseudo metal music you hear in those 80's movies like the Lost Boys or Iron Eagle, especially the vocals. This is really bad. I mean I thought this shit was lame when I was 12 and saw the movie it was in. The singer is soooo metal he sounds like the singer from Foreigner singing "Cherry Pie." Anybody who tells you this is good is either:

A) In the band
B) Works for Victory Records
C) Hasn't heard the record
D) Is some kiss ass sheep scenester who has heard the record, but that likes anything Victory puts out.

Don't believe the hype. This is very bad.
