» In conjunction with the University of Texas Press, the chroniclers of American roots music at No Depression magazine will be releasing issue #76 on October 15th as a "bookazine" - an issue of the magazine in book format - which they plan to repeat on a semiannual basis. The first edition's cover will feature the curly-haired banjo player Abigail Washburn and her Sparrow Quartet, and will center around articles exploring the recent glut of string bands full of musicians in their 20s, but will also feature an essay "seeking to place the band Hanson within the continuum of pop music," and of course the magazine's traditional long-form review essays. [09.04.2008 12:00 pm]
